Job Description

Shop Foreman

 

We are expanding, in search of a hands-on, Shop Foreman expert to lead our team.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Responsibilities include the fabrication, service, maintenance, repair, testing, and calibration of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and machined parts.
  • Experience in (3) three of the following areas is highly desirable: Capital equipment, Loaders, automated packaging equipment, vessels, chambers, heavy equipment, machinery, refrigeration, compressors, welding, fabrication, and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience troubleshooting, installation, and repair of heavy machinery is required
  • Hands-on lead, mentoring up to (5) five Technician / Mechanics and or welders and fabricators
  • Perform mid-level to advanced customer support activities including equipment installation, equipment and/or product troubleshooting and repair, equipment maintenance, and assist with equipment testing, start-up, and validation activities as needed.
  • Responsible for mid-level customer technical support (product/equipment troubleshooting) including support via phone, online, or in the field.
  • At times, act as a single point of contact for the customer, soliciting internal technical support as needed, managing sub-contractors as needed
  • Maintain broad equipment, process, and manufacturing knowledge critical to supporting equipment.
  • Works independently and a part of a team with minimal technical supervision.
  • Perform troubleshooting of various custom heavy machinery.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Must enjoy mechanics, tinkering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Able to coordinate, perform the installation of complex, structural capital equipment.
  • Able to design, fabricate, assemble complex, often large, mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to be a hands-on contributor while leading a small crew of Fabricators, Service Techs, Mechanics as needed.
  • Troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems
  • Able to perform manufacturing processes such as brazing, welding, etc.
  • Able to decipher electrical, mechanical, and process flow schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of Mechanical or Electrical Controls
  • Familiarity and use of test equipment.
  • Fabricate

  • Forming steel

 

SUPERVISORY: Lead, mentor up to (5) five Fabricators, Shop Assistance, Field Service Technician and Mechanics

 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

5+ years’ experience in the field, or as a Shop leader, technical training, AAS in electrical, mechanical, or mechanic disciplines, or equivalent work experience working in a Mechanical function. We value education, although value real-world, hands-on, passionate leaders equally.
Familiarity and use of hand tools. Plumbing, including piping and brazing.
Electrical/Electronic knowledge. Understanding of technical instructions, schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Mechanical Skills. Computer Skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

o Often around near medium/heavy construction and/or clean room environments
o Internal manufacturing floor contains mobile equipment, machinery, steam, high voltages, welding
o Noise levels can vary, and hearing protection may be required in some areas
