Job Description

Safety Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Safety Manager to join our team in northern New Jersey, Winfield location. If the description below sounds like you, Apply Now!

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to manage OSHA compliance programs in an industrial environment
  • Conduct assessments and audits to improve EHS programs and culture
  • Develop and support the implementation of written EHS policies and procedures
  • Develop and track safety key performance indicators (KPIs) and management reports
  • Perform incident investigations and prepare corrective actions
  • Participate in safety meetings and safety committees
  • Develop and present safety training programs for new employee orientation, chemical safety, machine safety, PPE, powered industrial trucks, and other topics
  • Analyze claims and deliver services that reduce losses and insurance costs
  • Provide employee and supervisory training and coaching
  • Work with our team of CIHs to implement industrial hygiene sampling programs
  • Build client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general industry
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Safety Science or a related field
  • 1 plus years of experience in a manufacturing and/or processing environment.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with writing clear and concise reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Power Point
  • Manage inspection and reporting data and maintain a spreadsheet that is updated monthly
  • Develop and manage and internal environmental deviation control worksheet
  • Develop, deliver and manage employee training on environmental and safety topics
  • Maintain a biweekly report of the status of EHS action items
  • Collect data for monthly key performance indicator meeting (lost time statistics, near miss data, etc)
  • Update the incident reporting tracking system
  • Provide status updates on safety improvement plans
  • Participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis

 

Preferred Skills, not required:

Certification in a related area (ASP, CSP, OHST, CHST, CET)
